WHat those Krazy Kids are doing with DSLRs now

As many people who know me can attest, I am endlessly fascinated by the video users are creating with DSLRs. The trend to create DSLR films, started almost singlehandedly by Vincent Lafloret over one weekend with a Canon 5D prototype in New York City (see "Reverie"), has given birth to a movement full of creative young storytellers who can now access a visual tool set once exclusively the province of high end cinematographers.

This is exciting stuff. Tools like Final Cut Pro, Premiere, even IMovie have been visual storytelling tools in the hands of ordinary people. The DSLR promises to do the same for the aquisition of moving images. This is an exciting time to be alive and working in this business.

Brand new website for Impact Photography!

http://www.impactphotopro.com/
Have been working on this for a couple weeks, as the first site, cobbled together with IWeb, simply didn't have the oomph. Please check it out and tell me what you think!

Tips on food photography

came across this on Guy Kawasaki's site. Good tips, good advice. Some decent pix, although I didn't like all of the photos. They make a lot of use of shallow DOF and selective focus.

The day before...

It was all about the nails yesterday at Love Nails in Virginia Beach. Kara and her party spent a day in preparation for the big event.

Then Kara and her group went to lunch.
