Found this out yesterday

Denny Manufacturing Co., creator of photographic backgrounds and one of the sponsors of the After dark Education seminars, used some of my photos in a blog promotion.  I shot these in March-April 2010 at After Dark Miami. Thanks to Scarlett Lemons for finding this and letting me know. A pleasant surprise.

Montgomery Grill

Had a chance to shoot the Montgomery Grill and work on the continuing challenges of food photography.

The Montgomery Grill is on High Street in Portsmouth, near Old Town. As you can see, the interior is spacious, with a well-stocked bar, delectable menu, and full accommodations for dinner and drinks.

Food photography contunies to pose challenges of presentation, styling, lighting, and general problem solving, particularly in a short window of time. I can't really ask the "food stylist" to make the soup look less like a concrete parking lot, so it is essential to work quickly, and effectively. This work is a terrific challenge, and I really enjoy it.

First Band photo session--Lofat

Lofat has been described as Hampton Roads' "emperors of thrash metal." They are said to  have had quite a strong following mainly due in part to their heavy promotional attack via the web and networking sites like MySpace. They have a growing legion of fans and already have released an album. Their webpage is lofat.net.

It was my pleasure to go on this shoot with Chuck Thomas, and two other photographers named Ashley and Dawn. We had a terrific evening and a spirited shoot. Despite their hard core image, Simon, Zeus and the other members of Lofat were great fun to work with and willing to do whatever we wanted them to do. Perhaps we'll see pictures here someday:http://www.lofat.net/nupix.html
